Pleasant Grove Independent School District Board of Trustees Names Chad Pirtle As Lone Finalist for Superintendent

The Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Trustees named Chad Pirtle as the lone finalist for superintendent in a special called board meeting on Sunday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. Pirtle currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance and Operations at Liberty Hill ISD near Austin, TX.

“Mr. Pirtle is a great fit for our community and school district,” said Fred Meisenheimer, president of Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Trustees. “His enthusiasm for education and students will contribute to our team of educators and leaders to enhance our well-established legacy of success in Hawk Nation.”

Mr. Pirtle has served as Liberty Hill’s Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance and Operations since 2015. A graduate of Paris High School and Texas A&M University- Commerce with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Pirtle began his career in medical health sales. His teaching and coaching career began in 2003 at Clarksville High School. He moved to Liberty Hill in 2005 where he coached and taught at Liberty Hill Junior School. He was the intermediate school assistant principal and junior high principal in Liberty Hill ISD before becoming an assistant superintendent. His education includes a master of education administration from Texas State University. He is currently working on his dissertation for his doctorate in education administration from The University of Texas at Austin. Chad has a wife, Emily, and two sons, Jack, 7, and Ryan, 4.

Pleasant Grove has maintained a long standing reputation of excellence in academic and extracurricular activities at local, state, and national levels. Roger Hailey is currently serving at the interim superintendent after former PGISD Superintendent, Dr. Jason Smith, took the Texarkana College President position in January. Six candidates were interviewed for superintendent before naming Pirtle as lone finalist. After a state-mandated 21 day waiting period, the Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Trustees will vote to hire Chad Pirtle as the superintendent in late March. Mr. Pirtle will begin immediately following this vote.
