The Pleasant Grove Middle School Star Steppers received top awards in Kilgore, TX on January 26 for their competitive routines in lyrical, pom, and novelty at the Gussie Nell Davis Dance Classic American Dance/Drill Team Competition. They received 1st place in Medium Ensemble, the Sweepstakes Award, Bronze Best Overall Choreography, Middle School Best in Class Runner Up, and the 1st Place Academic Award with an overall 3.6 grade point average. 8th grader Edie Neal received 1st place in the Middle
School Solo Division, and 8th grader Skyler Kemp received 2nd Place in the Middle School Solo Division. The Star Steppers are under the direction of Kristen Crawford and Melissa Box.

The Star Stepper Drill Team is a drill team experience for 7th and 8th grade students at Pleasant Grove Middle School. Pleasant Grove also offers recreational dance for fine arts and PE credits in grades 6-12.
