Police identify suspect killed in attempted home invasion

According to Miller County Sheriff’s Office the suspect killed during an attempted home invasion on Saturday March 5, 2016 has been identified as 47-year-old Craig Allen Smith from Del City, Oklahoma.

According to police the incident is still under investigation and there are no charges pending at this time.

According to Lafayette County Sheriff Obie Sims the car of a Lafayette County Woman who was shot and killed was found near the scene of the shooting in Miller County Saturday morning.

Virginia Paulette Seeger, 63, was found dead in her home Saturday morning on Lafayette County Road 314, just off County Road 310 – the Bradley Cutoff Road — east of Bradley.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that it responded about 5 a.m. to a 911 call relayed to it by Bossier Parish, LA 911 regarding an intruder inside Seeger’s home.
Responding officers found Seeger dead inside her home. No cause of death was released.

Miller County deputies were dispatched at 8:29 a.m. saturday to the 6000 block of Miller County Road 9 after a man shot someone attempting to break into his house.

Trent Ames of Fouke told authorities that he was asleep inside his mother’s home about 8 a.m. when he heard someone beating on a door. Ames went outside to get a gun from his car and confronted the intruder, who charged at him. Ames shot the man to death.
