Police Warn of Phone Warrant Scam

Texarkana Texas Police Department has received a lot of calls about a phone scam, stated TTPD.

“People told us that they were called by a male who identified himself as Deputy Howard. He told them that they had a warrant against them and owed money. The caller encouraged them to get a pre-loaded cash card and bring it to Bi-State Criminal Justice Center,” Texarkana Police Department said on their Facebook page.

Don’t fall for this. There is no Deputy Howard, and warrants are not handled that way at all. The best way to deal with these types of callers is to simply hang up.
