Sheriff’s deputy finds drugs on man arrested for warrants

A Texarkana man was allegedly found with methamphetamine and marijuana as he was being arrested for outstanding warrants on Friday on Pleasant Grove Road.

According to Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeff Neal on May 8, 2015 Deputy Danny French was dispatched to the 3300 block of Pleasant Grove Road for person with an active arrest warrant. Deputy French made contact with Billy Lynn McDonald who is 51 years of age of Texarkana at this location.

“Two outstanding warrants were confirmed for Mr. McDonald’s arrest and he was taken into custody,” said Neal.  “The first warrant was for a Failure to Appear on Assault with Bodily Injury and the other warrant was for a Parole Violation.”

According to Neal during the arrest of Mr. McDonald it was found, he had methamphetamine and marijuana in a pocket of a pair of shorts he was wearing beneath his blue jeans.

Mr. McDonald was charges with Possession of a Controlled Substance Under One Gram and Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces as well as the two warrants he was initially arrested for. He was booked into the Bi-State Jail where his bond was later set by Judge Nancy Talley at $5,000.00 for each of these charges. No bond has been set for either warrant Mr. McDonald was arrested for.
