Slight risk of severe weather Wednesday evening

According to the National Weather Service the Ark-La-Tex faces a slight risk of severe weather Wednesday evening.

Most of the chance for severe weather looks to be during the overnight hours with hail as the main threat followed by high and damaging winds and lesser chance for isolated tornadoes.

A lake wind advisory will remain in effect through 11 p.m tonight due to strong and gusty south winds of 15-25 mph with higher gusts to near 30-35 mph. A band of showers and thunderstorms will develop and spread over the area tonight. These storms will diminishing by early Thursday morning. A few of the storms will be capable of producing large hail and high and possibly damaging winds. Deadly lightning and brief but locally heavy rainfall will be possible. An isolated tornado is possibly…But not likely. The next storm system will be moving into the area for the middle of the weekend including easter Sunday diminishing by later Sunday night.
