Storm wreaks havoc on area roads

Texarkana area first responders have responded to multiple cars trapped in flood water, lines down, and trees down caused by a severe thunderstorm that came through town Saturday afternoon.

Motorists were reported trapped on W. 7th Street under the railroad tracks and at E. Broad street at E. 9th Street.  No injuries were reported and all occupants are reported out of the vehicles.

Multiple intersections south of Interstate 30 are without traffic lights due to power outages.

SWEPCO reports 1,916 customers without power in Bowie County.

Texarkana, Ark. Fire Department also responded to a tree down on a house in the 1000 block of Putman Street.
