Omega Delta Chi Sorority planted the first tree in a new memorial garden on the Texas A&M University Texarkana campus Friday morning.  The tree was planted in memory of Sofia George, Daniel Gonzalez, and Nathaniel Rodriguez, three TAMUT students that were killed in a car accident last November.

According to TAMUT spokesperson Stacy Glover, “every detail of this event, including the type of tree, the bench, and memorial plaque, was organized by the ladies of the Omega Delta Chi Sorority.”

University President Dr. Emily Cutrer along with friends of the three students and members of Omega Delta Chi addressed the crow before planting the new tree together.

The memorial garden is located on the west side of the campus, after entering the main entrance, by the pond and bridge.
