Texarkana Animal Control Officers Rescue 11 Dogs and 1 Cat Abandoned in House

Texarkana, Texas animal control officers rescued multiple animals from a house on W. 9th Street Wednesday.

A post in a local Facebook group reported there were at least 10 dogS abandoned in a house and were chewing through the side of the house to get out.

According to Texarkana, Texas Public Information Officer, Lisa Thompson animal control officers were called to a house on W. 9th street because residents had reported seeing animals trying to chew their way out. Animal control officers gained entry to the house through a relative of the owner and found seven puppies, four adult dogs and one cat abandoned.

“The animals were taken to the shelter and are on a thirty day hold,” Thompson said.
