Texarkana City Council Seeking Ward 5 Representative

The City of Texarkana, Texas City Council is seeking letters of interest from individuals who are willing to serve as the Ward 5 representative. The seat was vacated upon Council member Bill Miller’s resignation at the regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, January 12, 2015.

The City Council will consider appointing a Ward 5 resident, who is a registered voter and otherwise fully qualified, to serve the remaining term which ends in May 2015.

Ward 5 residents who are interested in being appointed to the position shall by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2015, submit a Letter of Interest to the City Secretary stating reasons for desire to serve (postmarks will not qualify the application, the Letter of Interest must be in the City Secretary’s possession by the stated deadline).

All Letters of Interest will be public record and included with the City Council Agenda for the City Council meeting to be convened at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall on January 26, 2015. All candidates for the appointment will likely be interviewed by the City Council during the January 26, 2015 Regular Council Meeting and should plan to attend.
