A Bowie County man is facing a possible life sentence if found guilty of sexually assaulting the son of a family friend in July 2014.

Anthony Green, 24, allegedly admitted to Bowie County Sheriff’s Office investigator Robby McCarver that he raped a 9-year-old boy in a residence on Farm to Market Road 1398 when he was interviewed at the Bi-State Justice Center July 23, 2014, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The boy’s mother told investigators her son, “approached her and did not look like his normal self,” after spending some time with Green. The mother reported that her son told her he was sexually assaulted twice by Green.

The boy reported that Green sodomized him and that Green forced him to perform a sexual act on Green.

A Bowie County grand jury indicted Green Dec. 10 for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Green is facing five to 99 years or life in prison on each count.

Green’s case has been assigned to 202nd District Judge Leon Pesek. Green is scheduled to appear in January for arraignment.
