Texarkana pawn shop owner accused in attempted murder for hire conspiracy

William “Bill” Duffer, owner of Tri-State Pawn in Texarkana, Ark., was arrested Friday on a charge of attempted conspiracy to commit capital murder.

Officials with the Texarkana, Ark., Police Department said they are not releasing any details at this time because the investigation is active and ongoing.

According to jail records, Duffer was released Friday after posting bond on a $100,000 bail.

According to Texarkana, Ark. Police Department Corporal Kristi Bennett, Duffer was arrested for criminal attempt conspiracy and criminal attempted capital murder while appearing at court for an unrelated charge.
