Miller County prosecutors filed formal charges Thursday against a Tennessee woman for transporting a minor for commercial sex.

Ashley Elizabeth Hatfield, 27, is facing a single count of transportation of a minor for prohibited sexual conduct. Hatfield allegedly helped the minor travel for the purpose of engaging in prostitution, according to court records.

Hatfield was arrested and brought before a Miller County judge Aug. 26 for an initial appearance. Hatfield’s bond was set at $250,000. The same day, members of the Texarkana, Ark., Police Department were granted permission to search cell phones belonging to Hatfield and another person for phone records, text messages, videos, pictures, and location information, search warrant records state.

Hatfield has been unable to make bond and remains in the Miller County jail. She is scheduled to appear for arraignment next week before Circuit Judge Kirk Johnson in a courtroom at the Miller County Correctional Center.
