Texarkana teen jailed after stolen-truck chase ends in foot pursuit
TEXARKANA, Texas — A 17-year-old is jailed on felony and misdemeanor charges after an Arkansas State Police chase involving a stolen pickup ended in an hourlong foot search through a Texarkana neighborhood, police said.
Quantez Lamounte Jefferson, 17, of Texarkana, Arkansas, was booked into the Bowie County Detention Center on Monday on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony, and evading arrest or detention, a Class A misdemeanor, according to jail records. His bond was set at $28,000.

Arkansas State Police pursued a pickup reported stolen out of Magnolia, Arkansas, before the chase ended near 11th and Oak streets in Texarkana, Texas, police said. The driver ran from the truck on foot, drawing a large police presence to the area.
He was taken into custody after officers searched for about an hour, police said.
Magnolia is in Columbia County, east of Texarkana.
Jefferson has not been convicted. A charge is an allegation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
