Texas Middle School Student scientists take top honors at Regional Science Fair

Texarkana, TX – Texas Middle School student scientists were selected as category winners in the Region VIII Education Service Center Science Fair and East Texas Regional Science Fair.

Winners in the Region VIII Education Service Center Science Fair held on February 9 in Pittsburg, Texas were: Joseph DuPree, Second Place for 7th Grade Physical Science category; and, Macy Sloan, Third Place for 7th Grade Physical Science category.

During the East Texas Regional Science Fair on February 26 in Kilgore, Texas winners included:
Madison Bowers, First Place in Physical Science category and a cash prize ($40) from the American Chemical Association. Bowers will now advance to the ExxonMobile Science and Engineering Fair in San Antonio, Texas on March 31 – April 2;

Joseph DuPree, First Place in Physical Science category and a cash prize ($250) from the Texas Water Association;

Hollan Borowitz, Honorable Mention and a cash prize ($50) from Texas Water Association;
Macy Sloan, Honorable Mention and a cash prize ($50) from Texas Water Association.
