The National Circus & Acrobats from The People’s Republic of China performs at Perot Theater Dec. 10

All the way from Beijing! The National Circus & Acrobats from The People’s Republic of China will be performing at the Perot Theater on Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

One of China’s most celebrated circus troupes, The National Circus of the People’s Republic of China has been performing in its unique style for over sixty years, influencing circuses the world over, including Cirque du Soleil and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. Since the company’s inception in 1951, more than 200 of its artists have won gold and silver medals at national and international competitions.

The group is especially acclaimed in China because of the unique acts in their program such as Great Teeterboard, Grand Flying Trapeze, Group Contortion, Straw Hats Juggling, Girls’ Balance with Bowls and many other outstanding acts.

The National Circus and Acrobats of The People’s Republic of China were founded in 1958, and since that time the company has been dedicated to the innovation of and excellence in the circus and acrobatic art.

It has produced a large number of excellent circus and acrobatic acts with distinctive Chinese national style and characteristics. Representing China, the Company has visited and performed in more than 50 countries and regions including Japan, the United States of America, Romania, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Singapore, Britain, France, Spain, South Korea, Indonesia, Colombia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, among many others, making great contributions to the role of China’s national acrobatic and circus art on the international scene.
