Tiger Theatre Company takes top awards during District and Bi-District UIL


The Tiger Theatre Company of Texas High School is now advancing to the 5A Region 2, Area 2 UIL One-Act Play competition after taking top awards during the District and Bi-District events for their production of The Last Illusion.

Awards received at the District 15-5A contest in Texarkana, Texas on March 15 included: First Place for Performance; Best Actor – Gabe Lohse; All-Star Cast – Grace Hickey; Outstanding Technical Award – Sidney McGough.

During the Bi-District UIL One-Act Play competition in Lindale, Texas on March 24, awards earned included: Play Advancing; Best Actor – Chase Watkins; Honorable Mention All-Star Cast – Grace Hickey and Gabe Lohse; Honorable Mention All-Star Cast for Ensemble – The Assistants – Paisley Allen, Bree Barnett, Elizabeth Colvin, Bethany Dowd, Kayce Welch; Honor Tech Crew – Emily McDonald.

The 5A Region 2, Area UIL One-Act Play contest will be held on Thursday, April 7 at Tyler Lee Fine Arts Center in Tyler, Texas. Performances begin at 2:30 p.m. with Texas High School scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The THS UIL One-Act Play is under the direction of Lisa Newton, Trent Hanna and Amy Kemp. Chuck Zach is UIL Coordinator.
