Truck Rear Ends Eighteen Wheeler U.S. 59

6:30 A.M. | Liberty Eylau Volunteer Fire Department, Bowie County Sheriff Office, Texas DPS, & LifeNet responded to a major traffic accident on U.S. 59 south bound about a mile past 2148.

A HTI wood chip truck was pulling out of the rest area when an older model Toyota pickup truck rear ended it. According to a Texas DPS trooper on scene the driver of the Toyota was on the way to work at International Paper in Domino. The vehicle rolled several times after striking the semi-truck.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured and although the other driver received serious injuries he was awake and alert on scene. He was transported by LifeNet to an area hospital.
