Tuesday 3:50 p.m. Texarkana, Texas Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the Texas High School Parking Lot.

According to TISD spokesperson, Tina Veal-Gooch, around 3:50 p.m., a Texas High School student went to his vehicle in the THS Student Parking Lot.

The student started the vehicle and noticed smoke contained to the engine area. Fire was dispatched and engine area put out.

According to Veal-Gooch the student says he has been having trouble with the starter.

The fire caused school officials to shutoff the north entrance to the parking lot which contributed to congested traffic on summerhill.

“No one got hurt. All is good,” said Veal-Gooch.
