TTPD Arrests Two for Auto Theft and Recovers Vehicles

Texarkana, Texas | Two vehicles were stolen from the 3000 block of Brittney Lane in Texarkana, Texas this past weekend. On November 4, 2014, Officers from the Texarkana, Texas Police Department observed one of the vehicles in the area of Robison Road and Bright Street. officers found the vehicle abandoned with no occupants within minutes of the sighting.

As the officers searched the area, the second vehicle was recovered along with a white, Ford Explorer that had been reported stolen with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives followed up leads and two suspects were identified. On November 7, 2014, TTPD arrested Mardanisha Jones, 18 years old of Texarkana, Texas, and charged her with two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Also, a 16 year old juvenile was charged with the same offenses. Bond has not been set for Jones, and she remains in jail at the Bi-State Justice Center. Other charges/arrests are pending further investigation.
