TEXARKANA, Texas–On August 29TH at approximately 9:30pm officers were dispatched to a residence on Holly Ridge St. in reference to a subject who was armed and advising that he was going to kill himself. Officers responded to the residence and started to create a perimeter. The subject, a 45 year old white male, exited the residence and made contact with the officers in the yard. The subject was armed with an assault rifle. The Texarkana Texas S.W.A.T. Team responded. A negotiator also responded and was able to talk the subject in to giving up peacefully. The subject was taken to Wadley Hospital for an Emergency Detention for mental observation.
