The Texarkana Twins will make the trip home riding a wave of momentum after splitting a road series against the league’s second place team, Victoria Generals. After falling in last night’s game, the Twins bats came alive as they outslugged the Generals to earn a 16-10 win.
The scoring started early, as the Twins scored five runs in the first inning after RBIs from Hunter Southerland, Avery George, Dylan Ditzenberger, Caleb Lassaigne, and Peyton Faulkner put the Twins up 5-0 early. The Generals scored the games next four runs to narrow the lead to 5-4 by the end of the 5th inning.
The Twins would yet again explode for four runs in the 6th, as Nigel Smith cleared the bases with a double then was driven in on a single from Cam Hill to push the lead to 9-4. The Twins would keep up the offense after Victoria scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th, scoring 5 more runs in the 7th. Peyton Faulkner and Jalynn Keys both provided the Twins with RBI singles, followed by a two run double from Cam Hill and a sac fly from Hunter Southerland. The Generals would again respond with two runs to make the score 14-8. The final runs came in the ninth when both teams scored a pair, the Twins runs coming from a two run home run from Coltyn Kessler.
The Twins now head back home to George Dobson Field to face the Brazos Valley Bombers for a two-game series. After facing the Bombers at home, the Twins go back on the road to face the Bombers in Bryan, Texas.
