U of A Hope-Texarkana Names Dr. Belinda Powell Aaron Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration

Hope, Arkansas | Dr. Belinda Powell Aaron has been named the new Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana. She has a doctorate in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development from Louisiana State University. Her undergraduate degrees include an Associate’s degree from Texarkana College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from TAMU-Texarkana, and an MBA.

Aaron recently was the vice president for finance and administration at South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado, Arkansas. Prior to that role she was assistant vice chancellor for finance and administrative services at Louisiana State University at Alexandria, where she served for 11 years. She has taught undergraduate courses in Business Administration since 2004. Her previous experience also includes healthcare management and marketing in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Joining her is her husband, Ricky Aaron, who was a Special Education Teacher in Louisiana and is an award winning barbecue champion, and her daughter Rebecca Aaron, who is a junior in Global Studies at St. Edward’s University in Austin. The Aaron family enjoys volunteering in disaster relief efforts with UMCOR, fishing, and travelling. They join their local family Dr. Brad Aaron of Texarkana, Bruce Aaron of Simms, and Rodney Aaron of Little Rock.

Dr. Aaron assumed her new duties on January 6th. She succeeds Jerald Barber, who retired earlier this month after many years in higher education in Arkansas.
