The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) has partnered with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) to offer local students a new option for completing a bachelor’s-degree close to home.

UALR Texarkana is currently enrolling students for Spring 2016 classes in three degree programs: Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BS), and Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS).

Most UALR-Texarkana students will complete their first two years–earning an associate’s degree—at UAHT, and then transfer to the UALR program for the final two years of their bachelor’s degree. Students with coursework from other community colleges, however, may also transfer into the program.
While UALR-Texarkana courses are based online, students have opportunities during the semester to meet their professors from Little Rock, both on the Texarkana campus and at UALR.

In addition, all classes with high enrollments are taught by a hybrid model, in which professors and students meet in classrooms on the Texarkana campus several times during the semester to supplement online work. Enrollment is now open.

  1. Those interested in attending UALR Texarkana should:
complete an online admission application at www.ualr.edu/texarkana,
  2. Submit transcripts from all institutions attended (a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for admission)
  3. Submit proof of immunization, UALR scholarships are available.

The deadline to apply is December 1, 2015.

The local UALR-Texarkana program coordinator, Chris Bachers, has an office on the new Texarkana campus the program shares with UAHT, beside the Four States Fairground. With a new building opening in December 2015, the Texarkana campus will triple its classroom space for the Spring 2016 semester.
