TEXARKANA, TEXAS – The Texarkana Texas Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault for Casey Paul-Aaron Williams, 21. His last known address was in Garland City, Arkansas. A warrant has also been issued for Hope Ashley Huffman, 24, of Atlanta, Texas for Tampering with Physical Evidence after it was learned that she removed a gun from the motel room prior to officers arriving.

Officers were dispatched to the Tri-State Motel in the 800 block of West Seventh at 11:57 a.m. on November 11 to the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they were told that a 38-year-old victim had already been transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. According to witnesses, a confrontation occurred inside the motel room between the victim, Williams, and another man. After two men ran from the room, Williams returned shortly afterwards with a gun and fired several shots. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest area. He underwent surgery that afternoon and remains in the Intensive Care Unit. Although his injuries are serious, he is expected to survive.

During the course of the investigation, detectives later discovered that Huffman entered the motel room after the shooting and removed a rifle before the first officer arrived. It is not believed that she was involved in the shooting, so her motivation for removing the rifle is not known. That weapon has not yet been located.

Anyone with information on either Williams’ or Huffman’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
