A Bowie County grand jury indicted a Texarkana woman for injury to an elderly person and unlawful restraint Thursday.

Sebrina George, 49, faces two to ten years on each count if convicted. According to a probable cause affidavit, Bowie County officers were looking for another man when they knocked on the door of a house on Kings Highway in Texarkana, Texas, on a hot August day. The officers heard a man shouting for help and entered the house.

Inside they found Robert George tied up on his bathroom floor. Robert George told officers that his wife and stepdaughter had tied him up at least 24 hours before with cables and straps and that the two had beaten him. Officers noted a bleeding cut to Robert George’s face and bruises on his body.

Robert George’s hands and feet were so swollen he could not walk and had to be carried to an ambulance. The house where Robert George was found did not have air conditioning and temperatures Aug. 6 reached 100.

Sebrina George is currently in the Bowie County jail. Her daughter, Ann Marie Stranigan, 27, is in jail as well on the same charges though her case has not yet been presented to a grand jury.
