Woman charged after false bomb threat at Texarkana Public Library

A 56-year-old woman was arrested Monday after telling staff she had placed a bomb inside the Texarkana Public Library, forcing an evacuation. A search found no device, police said.

TEXARKANA, Texas — A woman was arrested Monday after telling staff at the Texarkana Public Library that she had placed a bomb inside the building, prompting an evacuation and a search that found nothing, police said.

Officers and firefighters were sent to the library about 3 p.m. Crews searched the building inside and out and evacuated it while they worked. No device was found.

Becky Clizzie, 56, was still at the scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody, police said. She was charged with false alarm or report and booked into the Bi-State Jail.
