Texarkana College has renewed its partnership with TexAmericas Center, extending lease agreements that support workforce training facilities in Western Bowie County through 2028.

The TC Board of Trustees recently approved two lease renewals: one for the TC@TexAmericas Center training facility near Red River Army Depot in Hooks, and another for the Professional Driving Academy location at 203 Bowie Parkway.

The training center lease runs through January 31, 2028, with three one-year extension options. The CDL program lease extends through March 31, 2028, also with three renewal options.

Texarkana College first established its presence at TexAmericas Center in 2011. The training facility now serves approximately 450-500 students annually, offering programs in diesel technology, OSHA safety training, forklift certification, and specialized technical training for military and defense industry operations.

“TexAmericas Center has been an outstanding partner for more than a decade, and these lease renewals reflect our shared commitment to workforce excellence and regional economic development,” said Brandon Washington, VP of Campus Operations and Dean of Workforce at Texarkana College.

The facilities serve RRAD personnel, defense contractors, TexAmericas Center tenants, and residents from Hooks, New Boston, DeKalb, and Cass County. Programs include dual credit courses and Tango Flight, an aviation workforce program for high school students.

Scott Norton, Executive Director and CEO of TexAmericas Center, said the partnership supports high-quality training resources that benefit tenants and the regional workforce.

TexAmericas Center operates one of the nation’s largest mixed-use industrial parks, spanning more than 12,000 acres.
