Beatrice Viola Browning

February 24, 1947 – August 12, 2026

Beatrice Viola Browning went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Browning was born on February 24, 1947, in Red River County, Texas, and lived in Fouke most of her life. Beatrice was a retired transcriptionist, having faithfully served for thirty years with Christus St. Michael Health Care System. Following her retirement from St. Michael, she continued her career in healthcare, working at Little River Memorial Hospital in Ashdown, Arkansas. Beatrice was also a faithful and devoted member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where her faith and love were an important part of her life. She cherished the special relationships she shared with the ladies in her Lydia Sunday School class. These friendships were very dear to her, and she especially looked forward to gathering with the ladies for lunch each Sunday afternoon. Those lunches were more than just a meal-they were a time of fellowship, laughter, and friendship. Beatrice had a true servant's heart and was always putting others before herself. She found joy in helping others and giving of her time, love, and kindness without expecting anything in return.

She was a devoted and selfless mother who sacrificed whatever was necessary to give her children a better life. Beatrice loved her children dearly, but her grandchildren were truly her pride and joy for over thirty-one years. She also found joy in cross-stitching and spending time outdoors working in her flower beds. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Mackey Browning; her two sisters, Carolyn Hand and Vicki Looney; and one brother, Wallace Mitchell; and her parents, I. B. and Mary Lou Mitchell.

She is survived by her children, Andrea Browning of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Jay Browning of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and Alyson Mann and her husband, Scott of Fouke, Arkansas; two sisters, Mary Montgomery of Texarkana, Arkansas; and Diana Monko and her husband, Jim, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Taylyn Padgett and her husband, Andrew, Bradley Browning and wife Hattie, Michael Mann and wife Kenslee, Jacob Mann and his special friend Adilee Higdon and Mackey Browning. One great-grandson, Beckham Browning, two sisters-in-law, Diann Sanders and Jeanie Browning, and a host of friends and other relatives.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Concord Cemetery with Bro. Dan Jones officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 P. M.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Sunil Patel and his staff, and Dr. Xiang Gao for the care and love they gave to Beatrice during her illness, and to Hospice of Texarkana for the kind care and support.
