Billy Lee Webb, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026. He was born on September 12, 1928, in Wink, Texas, to Sherman Webb and Pearl Foster Webb.

Billy was a devoted husband to Mildred Breed Webb and a loving father to James Kelly Webb, Pamela Webb Thompson and spouse Charles, and Brooks Lee Webb and spouse Pam Caines Webb. He was also a proud grandfather to Burton Thompson and spouse Kelly, Kathryn Hinojosa and spouse Miguel, Sarah Webb, and Hannah Webb; one great grandchild Beckett Thompson. His family was the center of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

Billy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, he taught aircraft engine start-up procedures to American pilots as well as pilots from allied nations.

Following his military service, Billy enjoyed a long and successful 40-year career with Exxon, beginning in East Texas and taking him to various locations throughout South Texas. In the late 1960s, he also spent several months working in Libya, an experience that became a memorable chapter in his life.

In his spare time, Billy found great joy in woodworking. He especially loved creating beautiful pieces on his wood lathe, transforming simple blocks of wood into works of art. He took even greater pleasure in giving his handcrafted creations to family and friends, leaving them with lasting reminders of his generosity, creativity, and love.

Billy will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to his family, faithful service to his country, strong work ethic, and generous heart. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the many gifts he so lovingly shared.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Retirement Community in Texarkana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Texarkana or that you honor Billy’s memory by simply doing something kind for someone else.
