Donald Eugene Stanley, Sr. passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Doris Stanley; his three sons, Christopher Stanley, Troy Stanley, and Donald Stanley, Jr., all of whom were Eagle Scouts; his 5 grandchildren, Griffin Stanley, Maeve Stanley, River Stanley, Conrad Stanley, and Boden Stanley; and his two daughters-in-law, Erin Stanley and Danielle Stanley.

Don was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force and actively served in Vietnam. He served a number of years as Scoutmaster of Troop 3, and many additional years with the Old Timers of Camp Pioneer, Order of the Arrow advisor, and mentor to so many scouts in the Caddo Area Council. He was an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, camping, and scouting.

His love for his family and friends was evident, and his encouragement, teachings, and mentorship touched the lives of so many young men of the four-state area. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will remain as evidence of the immense impact he had during his lifetime.

Rosary and visitation will be held at Texarkana Funeral Home on Monday, October 12 at 6 pm. Funeral service to be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
