Mr. James R. Dudley, 75, of Shreveport, Louisiana, formally of Garland, Arkansas, passed on May 21, 2026, at Willis-Knighton South in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Genoa Central School and enlisted into the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge. Mr. Dudley retired from General Motors in Shreveport. He loved football, basketball, and baseball. He listened to Blues and Gospel, especially Lee Williams. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, playing dominoes, and talking noise. Mr. Dudley loved God and served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Galilee Baptist Church.

Mr. James was born to the late Obie Dudley and Birdia Lee Nolen-Dudley on July 3, 1950, in Garland, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Caroline Moss-Dudley, both parents and two brothers, Mr. Donnie Dudley and Mr. Billy Dudley.

He is survived by and leaves to cherish fond memories five children, Nikita Hughes (Kevin) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Kenesha Dudley (Artha Sasser Jr.) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Taiwan Dudley of Flint, Michigan, Robert Moss (Umeeka) of Dallas, Texas, and Byron Moss (Lasonya) of Houston, Texas. Eight Siblings, Neomia Coulter of Shreveport, Louisiana, Obie Mae Williams (Willie) of Bradley, Arkansas, Charles Steward (Claudia) of Flint, Michigan, Carol Cooper (Gregory) of Lewisville, Arkansas, Floyd Dudley (Tabitha) of Texarkana, Arkansas, Ida Mae Minton (Raymond) of Garland, Arkansas, Bennie Dudley (Elaine) of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Diana Magee (Grant) of Springhill, Louisiana. Nine grandchildren, I’riana Hughes, Keontae Dudley, A’Riyah Sasser, A’nyria Hughes, Brandon Moss, Jaelyn Moss, Treniti Moss, Quiana Moss, and Kamryn Moss. Booker T. Moss who was considered as a brother and not a brother-in-law.

His service will be held at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 1420 Lafayette Col 5, Lewisville, Arkansas 71845, where the Pastor Grant Magee will serve as Officiant and Eulogist. A public visitation will be held at the Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home, 415 East First Street, Stamps, Arkansas 71860. His interment will be at Wynn Cemetery with Military Honors in Garland, Arkansas 71839.
