Colton Lance Fischer, age 32, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on July 4, 2026.
Lance was a courageous, spontaneous, forgiving, lovable, and adventurous young man with a deep desire to explore the beauty of the world around him. He graduated early from the TISD Options Program and was a member of Redwater First Baptist Church.
Lance will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious smile, and the joy he brought wherever he went. He loved deeply, forgave freely, and never missed an opportunity to make others laugh. His adventurous spirit and genuine kindness left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew and loved him.
Lance was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mary E. Joyner and Robert Joyner Sr.; his grandparents, Charles Hartford Fischer of Redwater, Texas, Gerald Ray Jones of Whitehouse, Texas, and Kathy Williams of Texarkana, Texas; his uncle, Grady Ellis of Redwater, Texas; and his cousin, April Young of Texarkana, Texas.
Lance is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Jennifer Fischer of Redwater, Texas; his brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lynn Fischer II and Casie of Texarkana, Texas; his three beloved nephews, Cannon, Case, and Cooper, whom he adored; his grandmother, Anita Sue Fischer of Redwater, Texas; his beloved Boxer, Annie; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends, many of whom he lovingly called his brothers and sisters.
As Lance took his last breath, the sky over Dallas, Texas lit up with Fourth of July fireworks. We couldn’t have expected anything less from Lance than to make his final farewell during our nation’s 250th birthday celebration. It was a fitting tribute to a life lived with such a vibrant spirit.
Some souls are simply too beautiful to be confined by this world. They are born to laugh loudly, love deeply, and live freely.
Lance’s free spirit touched so many lives, reminding us to embrace each day with joy, kindness, and authenticity. In one of his final moments, Lance asked his daddy to pray for him—a simple yet profound expression of the faith, love, and peace that surrounded him. Though his journey here ended far too soon, his light will continue to shine in the memories he created and in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.
He lived with laughter, love, and a heart that embraced life completely. May he now soar free, wrapped in perfect peace.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Chapel of Chapelwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Pastor Corey Callicott and Associate Pastor Mike Powell. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Redwater Cemetery.
