Robert Leon Hornsby Jr., 88, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 14, 2025. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Kathryn.
Robert is survived by his son Todd (Sue); his son Troy (Anna Marie), and their three children Miller, Connor, and Lauren; ex-wife Diana; cousins Butch Ely (Stella) and Ellen Ely.
Robert was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 5, 1937. He was a graduate of W.B. Ray High School (‘55) and Texas A&I University (‘59). Robert honorably served as an officer in the U. S. Marine Corps (‘60-’63). He went on to raise a family and have a long and successful career in human resources. With a passion for aviation, Robert earned his private pilot’s license. He always cheered for the Texas Longhorns and loved his grandchildren who knew him simply as “Papa Bob”. He will be remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.
