Sharon Kay Hanna was born July 3, 1945 in Texarkana, Texas to Oda Mae and Lester “Red” Byes, and passed away peacefully on March 2, 2021 at Hospice of Texarkana.
She is preceded in death by her parents, half-brother Wayne Lawson, stepmother Ina Stanford Megason, brother Lester Paul Byes, and father of her sons, Kenneth Kesterson.
Sharon’s careers included professional cake decorating and candy making. She was a wonderful mother, excellent cook and baker who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was a talented quilter who gave away many beautiful quilts and was also admired for her crochet work. She loved to garden, go camping and panning for gold. Sharon loved to travel, enjoyed making new friends, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
She is survived by her sons, Russell Kesterson and Jeffery Kesterson of Arlington, Texas, her sisters, Rebecca Jean and brother-in-law Donny Thomas of Old Salem, Texas, Edie Byes and Ella Byes of Texarkana, Arkansas, her step-sisters Arlene Herbert and Christine Garrett of Malta, Texas, Nelda and Larry Huneke of Detroit, Texas, her aunt and uncle, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private burial, interment will be at Chapelwood Cemetery in Nash, Texas.
