There are over 1,500 children from 900 families who are participating in the Angel Tree Program in Texarkana this year.  The program provides new clothing, shoes, necessities and “wish list” items to thousands of children.

Anonymous donors adopt little “angels” in a Christmas tradition that makes the season brighter for all involved.  The Salvation Army of Texarkana have their Angel Tree stationed inside Central Mall, across from Auntie Anne’s Pretzels.

“We are so thankful to Central Mall for giving us great access to the community, said Major Louise Feeser.  “We are also so thankful for a wonderful community that helps those less fortunate.”

Donors can adopt an angel by selecting a name from the tree.  They are then asked to purchase gifts that will then be distributed out to the community closer to Christmas time.

Emily Bonner, President of Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary emphasized that,  “so many children would not receive Christmas gifts if it were not for our local Salvation Army.  It just warms our hearts to be able to provide a service like this to our community.”
