Scout-O-Rama Ends With a Bang

Melanie Warden and Christeena Quarles watch fireworks from the roof of their car at the closing of Saturday’s Scout-O-Rama.

Ross Perot arrived by helicopter and addressed the crowd.

Activities included demonstrations of Scout crafts including rope skills, outdoor cooking, fishing, boating, field first-aid, and climbing demonstration and activities. There was also activities demonstrating the proper handling of the American flag. New this year was a zip line that allowed older scouts to fly across the lake. Food vendors were also present to make sure that no one got hungry during the outdoor festivities. Youth and Adult leaders participated in a Dutch-Oven cook-off.
