Bowie County Sheriff’s Office is searching for multiple suspects after a man was shot multiple times while attempting to sell his cellphone through Craigslist
According to a Bowie County Sheriff’s Office press release, Deputy Michelle Carrier was dispatched to a shooting victim at Saint Michael’s Hospital Sunday evening. She spoke with the victim of this shooting Michael Amason when she arrived at the hospital. Mr. Amason informed Deputy Carrier that he had responded to a local Craig’s List ad from a user who was looking to purchase a cell phone. The user gave Mr. Amason her cell phone number and after speaking over the phone the two agreed to meet on West 7th Street in Texarkana to conduct their transaction.
When Mr. Amason arrived at the location, he met with a white female described as being in her late 20’s with an eyebrow ring, rainbow colored hair and tattoos on both arms. She was wearing a white tank top with a rainbow printed on it and short sport style shorts. She asked Mr. Amason and his friend, Dalton Flint, who had come along with him to follow her to her home to retrieve the money she needed to purchase his cell phone. The white female got into her dark blue four door car and the two followed her to an address close to Sunset Mobile Home Park on West 7th Street.
This male is described as being about 5’7” with tattoos on both arms and a flame tattoo on one wrist. He was wearing a dark blue or black flat billed baseball style hat with a white brim, a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. Mr. Amason took his cell phone back from this male only to have a handgun pulled on him. This male fired six or seven shots striking Mr. Amason in both legs. While Mr. Amason was lying on the ground suffering from his gunshot wounds, this male put the handgun to his head and relieved him of his wallet and cell phone. At the same time, the female suspect also produced a handgun and demanded Mr. Flint’s wallet and cell phone. This female took Mr. Flint’s cell phone from him, but he was not in possession of a wallet.
As this robbery was quickly unfolding two additional suspects emerged. They were both described as being white males. Little is known about the third suspect. The fourth suspect is described as being around 6’0” to 6’2” wearing a tan shirt with a red circular emblem on the front of it.
