Ray Duke, 59, of Texarkana, was struck and killed by a train about 11:00 last night just west of the Bowie County Correctional Annex.
According to Texarkana, Texas Police, the train crew said they saw him walking in the middle the tracks and blew their horn several times frantically trying to warn him, but he never moved out of the way. Tragically, it was impossible for the train to stop before hitting him.
TTPD is working with Union Pacific Railroad investigators on this case to try to determine why he was walking on the tracks and failed to get out of the way of the train.
