De Kalb, Texas – A woman, bleeding from head injuries reportedly sustained in a fight with her boyfriend, ran to a local business at 6 a.m. Saturday to telephone police saying she had been beaten.

“She called us from outside the Family Dollar,” said Lt. Rob Espinoza with the De Kalb Police Department.

“She ran from her house. She and her boyfriend had both been drinking, and he got the best of her,” he said.

The woman, whose name is not being released, is 36 years old and sustained injuries to the back of her head and above her left eye. The woman was sent to Christus St. Michael Health System and needed stitches, the Lieutenant said.

When police arrived at the couple’s home, the man, who is 40 to 41 years old, fled the scene. He now has a warrant for his arrest for assault-family violence.

This remains an ongoing investigation and TXK Today will update this story as more details become available.
