Search Operation Underway for Missing Man

Texarkana, Texas Police and the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue personnel are currently conducting a search operation for a missing man.

Police originally said Richard York was last seen when he was dropped off on the side of the roadway on Summerhill Road just south of Interstate 30 in the early morning of July 2. He was highly intoxicated at the time and requested the person with whom he was riding to drop him off there.

According to a Texarkana, Teas Police Detective on scene at the search, updated information indicates he was last seen in the area of 800 Capp Street.

A command post has been established in a church parking lot in the 800 block of Capp Street. Bowie County Sheriff’s Office personnel along with volunteers and search dogs are combing the area for any signs of the missing man.

Mr. York is described as being 45 years old, 5’10”, and 205 pounds.

UPDATE – The command post was moved across the street from the church after the pastor showed up and spoke with officers.
