DaVita centers donate $3,200 to Texarkana’s Beds for Kids – Walnut COC as Part of the DaVita Way of Giving Program

DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita Inc. (NYSE: DVA) and a leading provider of kidney care services, announced a $3,200 contribution to Beds for Kids – Walnut COC (Beds for Kids).

On Dec. 6, DaVita Texarkana Regional Dialysis, DaVita Miller County, DaVita Northeast Texas and DaVita Idabel presented Beds for Kids with a $3,200 check as part of the DaVita Way of Giving, the company’s locally focused charitable giving initiative that helps nonprofit organizations throughout the United States grow and thrive.

Beds for Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides beds for children in Bowie County and Texarkana, AR through CPS referrals. DaVita teammates chose to donate to Beds for Kids to give back to the community and to provide more children with comfort and security. The centers hope the donation will show the children there are people who truly love and care for them.

“During this unfortunate time in these children’s lives we hope to make a difference by helping to supply each one an individual bed to allow for comfort and security in their foster homes,” said Kristy Mewborn, DaVita facility administrator.

Artie Erwin of Beds for Kids said the DaVita contribution will go a long way to support its mission.

“Children can survive sleeping on a dirt floor or an old mattress, but they cannot survive without hope. This ministry allows God’s people to come into someone’s home and say, ‘I love you’ and ‘your Creator loves you,’” said Seth Hodges, Beds for Kids founder.

DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care services committed to improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, is dedicated to spreading ripples of citizen leadership through its Trilogy of Care – caring for its patients, caring for each other and caring for the world.
