The Liberty-Eylau High School Band earned first division ratings in both stage and sight reading at the UIL Concert Band contest. This accomplishment along with their first division ratings in marching band gives LEHS the Grand Sweepstakes award, the first since 1999.

“This is an exceptional group of talented musicians,” said LEHS Band Director Stephanie Nelson. “We have a high quality program and I am glad to see my students get the recognition they deserve.”

Band members are now preparing for the State Solo and Ensemble contest in June. 54 members of the band earned superior ratings to advance to the state contest.
