As part of the Community Conversations series, Liberty-Eylau ISD will host a discussion on internet safety for students and parents on March 18, 2019 at 6:00 at Liberty-Eylau High School. The event is open to anyone in the area.

Topics will include social media, online gaming, and other online issues facing students. There will also be valuable information regarding online bullying and practical ways for parents to be proactively involved in their student’s online activities.

“Student and parents are met each day with new opportunities and challenges with the interconnected lives we now live,” said LEISD Director of Communications Matt Fry. “Our goal in this meeting is to not only inform parents about potential traps and threats their kids face online, but also give them practical ways to establish open communication with their kids about their online lives. Social Media is not going away. As schools and parents we can not afford to be uniformed.”

The session will include a short presentation, question and answer opportunities, and valuable information for parents to take home.

This is the third in a series of community meetings hosted by LEISD administration and school board. Previous sessions included school finance and school safety.
