Annual Pow/Mia Vigil – 32nd annual pow/mia vigil on Friday and Saturday, September 20 (national pow/mia recognition day)& 21, 2019, the Texarkana area chapter # 278 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, inc. will stage their 32nd annual pow/mia vigil at the Korea/Vietnam memorial at 7th street & state line avenue in downtown Texarkana. this vigil is to honor and remember those who are/were classified as prisoners of war/missing in action (pow/mia), both those who returned and those still unaccounted for, from all wars, to raise public awareness of this issue and to let the families of these men and women know they are not alone in their quest for answers and for closure.

2nd Annual REMEMBER the RIDE event – Texarkana Harley-Davidson 802 Walton Dr. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State allowing them to fund educational programs, respite care and other community services. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. with Sue’s World Famous breakfast burritos (while they last!)…. and on to the points/poker run that will take you through about 75 miles of east Texas countryside! Returning to the dealership for lunch and more raffles! This is a RAIN OR SHINE event!

DIY Charm Bracelets – Discovery Place Interactive Museum, 215 Pine StreetTexarkana, TX, 2 pm. Charm Bracelets have been a great way for both men and women to remember the loved ones, friends, places, or important memories throughout their lives. September 21st we will be creating our own slip knot bracelets. This will be a fun and creative way to remember something or someone close to you.
