Workers will be replacing cross culverts on McKnight Road (FM 1297) in Texarkana this weekend, which will require closing the roadway to through-traffic. The roadway will be closed just east of Gin Road. Traffic will be allowed on either side of the roadwork, but will not be able to pass through. The official detour route will be on Richmond Road (FM 559) and Pleasant Grove Road (FM 2878), but local traffic may find alternate routes they find more convenient.
The roadway will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 21 and should reopen before 6 a.m. on Monday, July 24.
Scheduled work and road closures can change anytime due to weather conditions or unforeseen problems.
