Texarkana Texas Police Department responded to a call at approximately 4:00 p.m. to the 2400 block of Mamie Street in Texarkana on Tuesday afternoon, concerning multiple gunshots.
When officers arrived on scene they found a male lying on the ground next to a vehicle. According to TTPD, the body has been identified as a 28-year-old Casey Smith who died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Eyewitnesses and residents of the area told police they witnessed three black males walking up to the residence moments before multiple gunshots were heard. Shortly after seeing the men flee the scene in their vehicle.
According to police, the man did not live at the residence but was there picking up children from the school bus. Police say the children had not been dropped off yet.
Police are looking for a light blue or gray smaller car with Arkansas plates with damage on the passenger side that has red paint marks from what was hit.
