TTPD Arrests Wanted Sex Offender after Attempted Fraud at Mall

6122172Texarkana, Texas Police arrested a wanted sex offender at central mall today.

According to Texarkana, Texas Police Department they were dispatched to the Red River Federal Credit Union kiosk in Central Mall in reference to a possible fraud in progress.

“Officers arrived and located the suspect, Cedric Dewayne Cobb, 29 years old from Texarkana, Arkansas. After a warrant check, it was discovered that Cobb had a felony warrant out of Texarkana Arkansas for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.”

As officers went to make the arrest, Cobb attempted to flee. After a short scuffle, Cobb was arrested and subsequently charged with resisting arrest, in addition to the felony warrant out of Arkansas. Neither the officers nor Cobb were injured during the arrest.

According to the sex offender database Cobb was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault.
