Two TAPD officers receive promotions

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has announced the recent promotion of two officers.

Lieutenant Nick Elrod has been promoted from the rank of Sergeant. He began his law enforcement career with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department in June of 1996. Lt. Elrod has spent his tenue throughout all division of TAPD; Patrol, Service and the Criminal Investigation Division. He has served on the Honor Guard and as a Field Training Officer.

In 2008 Lt. Elrod was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and transferred to the Patrol Division. He supervised multiple shifts and served as the Explorer Post Advisor and the TAPD Honor Guard. He worked in the patrol division for 3 years before transferring back to the Criminal Investigation Division as a narcotics supervisor.

Lt. Elrod has many letter of commendation including TAPD Officer of the Quarter and CID Investigator of the Year. Lt. Elrod has a Bachelor Degree of Criminal Justice from University of Arkansas.

His promotion date is as follows; promoted to Lieutenant (effective) 06/05/16

Sergeant Paul Nall has been promoted from the rank of Detective. He began his law enforcement career with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department in June of 2000. Since that time, Sgt. Nall has been assigned to the Patrol Division as a patrol officer and then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division 2003. Sgt. Nall has served on the TAPD Honor Guard and as a United States Marshall Task Force Officer.

Sgt. Nall has numerous letters of commendations including several high profile CID investigations. Sgt. Nall has been honored as TAPD Officer of the Quarter and CID Detective of the Year.

His promotion date is as follows; promoted to Sergeant (effective) 06/05/16
