Billy Edward Wren, 72, of Texarkana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1954, in Waco, Texas, to Gertie Lou and Billy Wren.
Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a warehouse supervisor, but his greatest pride was always his family. He believed in putting family first and was a loving provider, protector, and steady source of strength for those he loved.
Billy enjoyed camping, fishing, searching for hidden treasures at secondhand stores, and repairing small engines. A true jack of all trades, he could fix just about anything. In recent years, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertie Lou and Billy Wren; his sisters, Lenore Keelin, Judy Jester, Lois Franklin, and Trudy Jester; and his brother, Larry Jordan.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 50 years, Yvonne Wren; his children, Liz Eason and husband Tim, Billy Ray Wren and wife Leslie, and Diane Griffith and husband Terry; his grandchildren, Brian Dennis, Sydney Lyle and husband Jackson, Macy Wren, Lucas Griffith, and Gracelynn Griffith; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Chapelwood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
